Hi, my name is Rory and I am an 18 years old senior in high school. My two passions are being outside in nature and drawing. Drawing is a newly found passion after taking art classes sophomore and junior year. This year (25/26) I am taking AP Art.
I've kept up my interest in drawing almost every day in my sketchbook with a pen I found on my desk. I first started with a pencil, but I didn't like how it rubbed. This is when I found out that you can draw with a ballpoint pen similarly as a pencil. The two main differences are that the pen doesn't rub and you can't erase mistakes, which is one of the main reasons I think I progressed a little faster.
I mainly draw architecture because I thought it was cool and all the detail that goes unnoticed when we walk by buildings. Thats why I try to make my drawings detailed.
I am now trying to expand my skills into using color, drawing more nature, and possibly painting. I enjoy the outdoors and have brought a sketchbook on my adventures to draw what I see, then take a picture, and tape it on the same page. I have also recently been using colored ballpoint pens in my sketchbook.
